Called to grow in faith
Being called to grow in our faith is about deepening our relationship with Jesus Christ. But this does not just come from reading the bible and praying. We are called to share the gospel and send people out on mission, and devote ourselvs uly the the kingdom of God.

Missions Story
God is at work in the hearts of the Thai people and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to see Him in action. Our goal of the trip was to teach kids how to swim, teach some basic English, and show them Christ. The school we attended was Rajaprajanugroh 21 with 600 kids attending from grades K-12th. Every day we taught a mix of swimming skills in the pool and what they called “English camp” in the classrooms. Going into the trip, I assumed that we would be assisting the teachers in the classrooms. Instead, I went to the front of the room and taught! The first few days it was terrifying as no one spoke English in the classroom but me, but as we got to know the kids more and discovered Google translate it became fun. I taught many different subjects, like places, countries, and dance, and I taught almost every grade. The swimming instruction portion was much easier, as we had two Thai instructors and a translator. It was amazing to watch the kids progress as the days went on and to watch them become comfortable with us and the water.
By the closing ceremony I knew many faces in the crowd and leaving was incredibly difficult. By far though the best part was seeing how God works everywhere, all the time. Thailand is 98% Buddhist, with only 1% as believing Christians. To be Thai is to be Buddhist, and historically Christianity has had a difficult time spreading there. Knowing this, I expected little to no Christians. But God works in incredible ways, and at the school we found a group of around 30 Christian students who meet weekly to worship and fellowship. We got to talk with them about Christ and their faith, which was amazing. On top of that, our group got to attend a local church that has 200 regular members. Meeting them and talking to them was so encouraging to me, and I hope encouraging to them. This trip grew me in more ways than one and led me to think deeply about what it means to be a follower of Christ and how I can better live that out. Thank you again for blessing me with the opportunity to go to Thailand and be a part of God’s wonderful plan.
